Feel confident in the boutique clothing you are buying at Ella Faye Boutique. Use our fabric and care guide when deciding on whether or not a garment will fit your lifestyle. Some fabrics need extra love and care while others can easily be thrown into the wash and dry no problem. We want your items to stay fresh and new for years to come, please follow this guide for optimal results. Please note that this guide is for absolutes like 100% cotton. When fabrics are mixed, care can be unique and you will see those individual instructions on each specific product under the "Fabric and Care" tab.
100% Cotton... What is Cotton?
Cotton is a soft natural fiber and one of the most sustainable fabrics for clothing. Cotton can be a tricky fabric to care for because it comes in many forms and can be blended with other common fabrics so please look closely at the garment's specific care tags. Cotton is known to wrinkle and/or shrink. Love your Clothes has a great article on caring for cotton.
Wash | Dry | Care |
Preshrunk items can be washed in any water temperature and can be machine washed. | Dry on low heat to keep its form and softness or hang dry and fluff if needed. | Ironing is often needed. See care tags for temperature settings. |
100% Rayon... What is Rayon?
Rayon is a synthetic fabric that can take on the look and feel of many other fabrics like cotton, silk, linen or other natural fabric materials. It is made from cellulose and sometimes is called viscose. Our online women's boutique will always use both names when describing this fabric. You will find this fabric in many women's tops, dresses, and bottoms. Rayon is a delicate fabric and can stretch, shrink, or bleed if not cared for properly.

Wash | Dry | Care |
Wash in cold water, preferably hand wash or machine wash on gentle (when garment tags allow) with like colors. Non chlorine bleach when needed. | It is best not to dry as it can shrink. Garment tags may allow you to tumble dry low, and remove promptly. | Steaming is preferred or use a low setting iron. |
100% Tencel... What is Tencel?
Tencel is a hot and trendy fabric that is blended from modal & lyocell fabrics. Tencel uses less toxic materials than other synthetic fabrics which then get recycled into the process for minimal waste. Tencel has become a fan favorite fabric because of how soft is it! Tencel is gentle on your skin, feels cool & dry, and botanic in origin.
Fabric made of Tencel lyocell also has excellent drape, doesn’t wrinkle easily, and holds dye well so it makes vibrant colors. It’s also breathable and manages moisture so it helps with temperature regulation - Good House Keeping Magazine
Wash | Dry | Care |
Wash in cold water, preferably hand wash or machine wash on gentle (when garment tags allow) with like colors. | High heat will break down the fibers. When garment tags allow, dry on very low or hang dry for sustainability. If needed, you could fluff dry quickly on low to retain softness. | Although this fabric doesn't wrinkle often, steaming is preferred if needed. High heat will break down fabrics so please be gentle. |
100% Polyester... What is Polyester?
I'm going to be honest here... polyester isn't my favorite fabric, but I will tell you what I like about it. Polyester is a synthetic fiber and can be a tricky material to care for. Polyester can be spun together with natural fibers which create a truly wonderful product. When we buy items for our online clothing store that are 100% Polyester I make sure that the feel is nice on your skin and doesn't feel scratchy as it can be known for feeling. Polyester isn't as breathable because it's not a moisture absorbing fabric but we've put a man on the moon so of course they have made a way to create a moisture-wicking polyester and you can see those on the market today. My favorite parts about polyester is that it is stain resistant and retains its shape well because of its durability.
